The RAM
Rodeo Tour season so far has been outstanding with cowboys and cowgirls competing
for record added money in prizes; $1500 in each event! There are 3 championship
opportunities during the RAM Rodeo Tour which include, Mid-Season Championship
Weekend, the RAM Rodeo Championship Finals in Newmarket and the Toronto Royal
Winter Fair Rodeo Weekend!
On August
18-19 weekend the RAM Rodeo Tour will be in two places at once, the 61st Annual Western Ontario Steam Thresher Reunion in Forest and the 6th Annual Grand River RAM Rodeo in Grand Valley. These rodeos will act as the Mid-Season
Championships where added money will increase to $2000 in each standard event
and buckles being awarded to the top competitor in the standings in each event
at this midpoint of the season. These rodeos are less than 200km apart,
allowing competitors a reasonable drive to hit $4,000 in added money that
weekend!
In order to
qualify into the RAM Rodeo Championship Finals, cowboys and cowgirls must
compete in 60% or 9 of the RAM Rodeo Tour stops. This weekend will have more than $50,000 in added prize money and
will crown the overall year-end Champions and the Finals Champions with
buckles. The top 8 cowgirls that qualified for the RAM Rodeo Championships in
barrel racing and pole bending, will then be invited to compete at the
prestigious Toronto Royal Winter Fair Rodeo on November 11. The top 4 cowboys
in rough stock events; bull riding, saddlebronc and bareback riding, will also
receive an invitation to compete in Toronto.
